Safe and secure browsing that will meet all your needs, provided by Viasat, one of the leading and most innovative companies in the field of satellite communications for fast and secure internet delivery. This service is available on flights to/from Europe, the Middle East, and North America on all 787 aircraft (Dreamliner), on some of the 737 and 777 aircraft. Currently the service is not available on flights to the Far East and Africa.

- Europe and the Middle East: short-haul flights (flights lasting less than four hours): Athens, Cyprus, Budapest, Rome, Bucharest, Prague, Sofia, Venice, Vienna, Warsaw.
- Europe and the Middle East: long-haul flights (flights lasting more than four hours): London, Amsterdam, Barcelona, Brussels, Paris, Frankfur, Milan, Geneva, Marseille, Berlin, Munich, Nice, Zurich, Lisbon, Madrid.
- Business class passengers to/from North America can enjoy the BUSINESS browsing plan as part of their in-flight service experience. Top Platinum passengers can enjoy the BUSINESS browsing plan in all service classes when flying to all destinations on planes where the service is offered.
- At this time, this service is not available on flights to/from the Far East or South Africa.
- The plans can be purchased with a credit card/Matmid frequent flyer points/vouchers during the flight when connecting to the service.

Do you need to install a program/app in order to use EL AL WiFi?
No. You simply need to connect to the aircraft WiFi network and open a browser on your personal device.
Does logging in and viewing the entertainment content involve a fee?
Logging in and viewing the entertainment content is free of charge and does not require entering any personal details.
When is the internet service available?
The internet service is installed on all 787 aircrafts and some of 777 aircrafts and available on flights to North America and Europe (excluding Moscow and Kyiv). We are in the process of upgrading the internet systems on our 737 and 777 aircraft to newer and more advanced technology.
Is browsing open to all websites?
Browsing is permitted on most public websites. However, EL AL reserves the right to block inappropriate sites.
Is it possible to make voice and/or video calls through the WiFi package?
It is not possible to make voice and/or video calls through the EL AL WiFi network.
What methods of payment are accepted when purchasing a browsing package?
The following types of credit cards are considered acceptable forms of payment for browsing packages:
Visa, Mastercard, Diners Club, Visa Dankort, American Express, JCB, Discover and Apple Pay.
You can also pay with vouchers and Matmid points.
Why does Viasat appear on the receipt?
Viasat is the satellite company that provides the internet service aboard the aircraft. Payment for this service is made to the company, which is why the receipt is issued in its name.
Is the EL AL WiFi network on the aircraft secure?
The browsing safety of our aircraft passengers is of paramount importance to us. To this end, we rely on industry-accepted technologies to secure information and the connectivity of our service.
However, when surfing the web, precautions should be taken when sending files, opening links, and browsing unfamiliar sites.
What technology does EL AL WiFi use to operate?
The in-flight internet is based on Viasat satellite communications, using the Ka band method that enables broadband browsing speeds that are similar to the browsing experience at home.
What is the in-flight browsing quality?
The EL AL WiFi internet service through the satellite communications company Viasat offers a fast browsing experience that is similar to what you experience at home.
What devices can be used to browse the internet during the flight?
The BASIC and SOCIAL browsing packages only allow you to use your smartphone or tablet (no laptops). The BUSINESS package makes browsing available on all devices, including laptops.
Is it possible to pay for one browsing package and use it on two devices simultaneously?
Only one device may be used at a time. Using an additional device will disconnect the first device.
How do you know if there is WiFi on the aircraft?
EL AL offers internet on flights to/from North American and select destinations in Europe. Each aircraft with an internet system installed will have a sticker near the front entrance door.
On what aircraft and to what destinations is the WiFi service available for purchase?
This service is available on flights to/from destinations in Europe, the Middle East, and North America on all 787 Dreamliner aircraft. Also this service is available on ECE, ECB, ECF (777) and EHC, EHD, EKJ (737).
Please note, you may experience service interruptions or loss of connection depending on satellite coverage.
Currently the service is not available on flights to the Far East and Africa.
Is there a risk of radiation?
According to standard tests performed by the system manufacturers, it was found that radiation levels are significantly lower than the standard.
In addition to the manufacturer data, EL AL has opted for further testing by a neutral body authorized for aircraft radiation testing, and even in this case it was found that the radiation levels are significantly lower than the standard.
How do you get connected?
- Go into your device settings, activate your WiFi, and choose the “EL AL” network.
- Open a browser and type in wifi.elal.com in order to enter the portal home page.
- Select a browsing plan.
Solutions to basic problems
What should I do if the portal page does not load automatically?
In the event the portal’s main page does not load automatically, open your browser and type in the following address: wifi.elal.com.
What should I do if when accessing wifi.elal.co, I receive an error message on the browser that “the connection is not private”?
Select "Advanced" or "View details" and then select "Continue in unsafe mode" or "Enter site" (the message wording depends on the browser type).
What should I do if I am unable to connect to the wireless network?
Enter the network settings, select the EL AL wireless network, and then select the option “forget this network.” Reconnect to the EL AL wireless network and then open a browser and type in wifi.elal.com.
How do I upgrade my browsing package?
In order to upgrade your browsing package, return to the main page of the portal or type in wifi.elal.com and select the package you want and proceed to payment. The system is designed to calculate the difference and charge you only for this difference.
How can I use the browsing package on another device?
You must go through the process of connecting to the EL AL portal on the new device to which you want to transfer the package, select “change devices,” and enter the email address with which the purchase was made on the first device. Only one device may be used at any given time. Using an additional device will disconnect the first device.
- The EL AL WiFi service is subject to the terms and conditions listed on the service’s portal and to the General Conditions of Carriage.
- In the event of areas that lack satellite coverage, or in areas with regulatory restrictions, the service will not be available.
- Technical malfunctions may occur; as a result, the service may not be.
- Is it not possible to make voice or video calls through the EL AL WiFi network (e.g. Skype, FaceTime).
- Payment for the browsing package is valid for a single flight segment and for only one device at a time.
- The EL AL WIFI network is secured using industry-accepted technologies; however precautions should be taken when opening files and links and browsing unfamiliar sites.
- The service is offered through Viaset and is its sole responsibility, subject to the terms and conditions of service listed on the portal.
